London Trip 14/09/17

Our task for the day

- Pick out three things that you are passionate about or interested in
- Use analytical skills to bullet point words
- Set out work in sketchbook
- Think about textures, shape, form, structure
- Take lots of photos
- Sketch, write observational notes

Brick Lane

Brick Lane for me was a very vibrant setting as every surface was decorated in eye catching graffiti that you couldn't help but stop to look at. I like the idea of graffiti as it is this collaborative art, each individual has an idea for and initially creates it for themselves but, as more people add to the wall, it becomes a large scale collaborative composition.

River Side

I find the architecture in London fascinating as there is always an amazing structure to look at where ever you are in the city, and each one is different. I like how unnatural the buildings all look together in the skyline, the sky is built up with these different shapes that shouldn't be in a natural environment.

The Tate Modern

The neon room was my favourite space that I saw in the Tate. I loved all the artificial  lights that were constantly flashing which meant that the room was always changing colour which created an exciting atmosphere for me, the viewer, to walk through.

At the Tate Modern I was drawn to the shadows created by the different installations. Due to the brightness of the light there were always shadows cast onto the walls behind the art or on the floor in front. These shadows for me added something extra to the art as interesting shapes are cast and they change depending which direction you look at the art from, its forever changing.
