Book Cover Designs - Mark Making 'Spot and Stripes' Contextualisation
The 'Spots and Stripes' brief, for me, was the most enjoyable as I really enjoyed working with limited materials and find ways that they can be used.
For putting the marks I created into context, I decided to create some box cover designs for the title 'We Were Liars' on Photoshop as Graphic design, specifically book cover designs, is a specialism that I am interested in looking at for a University course.
For these designs I took photos of my rubbings and marks made with black acrylic and ink, uploaded them onto Photoshop and used the layer mask tool to build up the image. I then experimented with altering the opacity of the layers to hide and make some parts of the marks transparent which I felt tied in with the title of the book.
